complaint #4...Bank of America
Never mind all the crap you hear about $45 billion in TARP relief paid for by you and me (sure, they paid it back) and all the bonuses to muckety-mucks. Does anyone actually know anyone that has been helped by B of A? I know of people that have been screwed by B of A, here's my personal story. In 2000, my mortgage company sold my mortgage to B of A. Why they are allowed to do this I'll never know. I think that companies making money off of money (banks, insurance) is a big scam and drain on real financial resources, but that's another complaint. Anyway, I get a letter from B of A saying that now they are my mortgage company and to send my first payment here, blah, blah, blah. OK, I got platinum credit, so I follow directions to the letter, I'm not an idiot. About 6 weeks later I get the actual coupons for mailing in my payments, this is after I made the first payment without one. I make a couple payments with the new coupons and THEN I get a letter from B of A stating that I never made the first payment, therefore the next two payments were rejected and they were going to start proceedings to repo my home. To make a long story even longer, I was forced to do all the legwork to prove I had sent everything properly. After getting everything all squared away, they acted like nothing ever happened. I spent countless hours, over a couple of weeks time getting copies of checks and talking to B of A reps, all of them snotty people who would not help me at all. No letter of apology, nothing. Oh, yeah, you better keep those payments with the coupons coming on schedule, before another computer, or asshole in charge initiates another foreclosure action. Well, I got it taken care of, and sent a scathing letter to several of the assholes I had dealt with during this ordeal, saying that not only would I find a way to cancel my business with them, I would tell everyone I knew about this, and I still do, 10 years later. So I cancelled my B of A credit card, traded in my beautiful truck for a different one, without B of A payments, and eventually re-mortgaged my home, to be done with them. Trouble is, I have since bought another home, and the mortgage was re-sold to B of A again, and there is no refinancing because of the crisis in Las Vegas and my house is only worth half what I paid for it 5 years ago, after putting $40K down. Fucking B of A found a way to screw me out of the value of my American Dream, and I have to pay for it because I need a place to live, even if it's not worth it, it's still the same as rent. Help from the bailouts that Obama promised? I don't know anyone who's gotten that kind of help, do you? Just the assholes who tried to take my house the last time.

complaint #3...cancer
Cancer has got to be the biggest "I don't know" that the doctors have. I mean, it was 2 years , 2 months ago that I went to a doctor for my first ever physical. It turns out, that with a routine blood test, I have a PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) of 5 so we better look into it. So they send me to another doctor, an urologist and he sticks his finger you know where and says, "I don't like the feel of that." I said I don't care for it, either. He says he meant the hardness of the prostate and I'd need a biopsy. Let me tell ya, it's very unpleasant. But anyway, a month later he calls and says 5 of 12 of those samples are positive. He wants to do surgery, but he sends me to Nevada Cancer Institute, and they want to radiate. I opt for surgery, because they can explore the rest of my guts, you know, to make sure everything else is OK. Radiation, they ain't so sure yet. So, I'm laying there in the recovery room, and among other thing, I'm hitting the button for drugs and I'm pretty high, but still I can understand the news enough, about the Hepatitus C panic in Las Vegas, but that'll have to be another rant. So the Doctor says I got the guts of a 25 year old. Really? All the drinking and drugs I did and it looks good? So I get released and have to get tested every couple of months. A month later the surgeon says the biopsy of what he removed shows a little cancer on the margin, I may need further treatment. Really? I shoulda had the radiation in the first place. So now I have to get radiation every weekday, after work for 7 week, 35 treatment. Well, good, we got it now. Nope, it's now a year after that and something else is happening. This has already cost about $150,000, thank God I have platinum insurance. Except I've been unemployed for 4 months and after 6 months no more insurance. The urologist is telling me that maybe I need hormone treatments at $1500 a pop. He's gonna send me to yet another oncologist, yet another "expert" to see what he thinks. These guys are the definition of "practicing" doctors, it seems like they don't know any more than I do. I do know that I felt like a million bucks before all of this started and ever since I've been tired. It seems like I know a lot of people with cancer, who get high hopes and then yet more problems. Are they all "practicing?" And what happens when my insurance runs out and all these doctors know I'm in trouble? Is there no obligation to the Hippocratic Oath to take care of me no matter what? complaint #2
A lot has been made of how Martha Coakley lost a Democratic seat in liberal Mass. I think the real complaint here is how weak the Democrats are and their failure to get anything done even with a majority in congress. I mean, didn't we all complain how W. was digging us in a hole and therefore CHANGE was needed. Well, you would think that the change would start happening. Nobody (except Faux News) liked W. and he seemed to get a lot of shit done, if the majority like Obama, why ain't nothing getting done. The only thing that's changed is a bunch of my money is now a Corporate bonus.
complaint #1
I've been unemployed since September. It doesn't look like I'll be working anytime soon. I saw it coming, but there wasn't much I could do about it. Our house voted for change, it seemed like the thing to do, but now what? All the talk about saved or created jobs is pretty much bullshit. The only jobs that have been saved have been at Banks or Wall St. I'm a construction worker, not a banker. My taxes are paying for large corporate bonuses, not "redistributing" wealth. My house is worth half what I paid for it, my "American Dream" has turned into a nightmare. I live in a town with 38 billion light bulbs and I'm an unemployed electrician, what's up with that?
I'm a pessimist
I complain about a lot of things, as do a lot of people, so this blog is to bring awareness to a wide variety of subjects. Even if we can't do much about something, sometimes talking about it is good medicine, maybe even the right people will hear a complaint and suggest a remedy, or forward to the right place. I won't censor this blog, I can dish it out and I can take it, so you can complain about me if you want. I'm very opinionated and encourage your opinion, even if I don't like it. I don't care what you're complaining about, politics, religion, sports, weather, it's all fair game as far as I'm concerned. I just like to complain and argue, and this will be a good place to do it so it won't upset our Facebook friends.
